  • Where did you grow up?

    I grew up in Michigan.

  • Tell us about your family.

I am married to Deidre and we have two children, Sienna and Cody.

  • Share something about yourself that might surprise people.

I spent my teen years attending every heavy metal concert that came to town. I take great pleasure in sharing that with students of a similar musical taste.

  • Briefly describe your work experience.

I worked in group and individual private practice following licensure in New England before moving to Montana in 2003. I then worked for almost 16 years in a therapeutic boarding school program as a therapist, program director and clinical director.

  • If you could spend a week anywhere in the world, where would it be?

There are many places I wish to visit someday. I suppose Nepal is toward the top of the list for future travel. I would love to take a long trek with my family. Among countries I have already visited, Italy and Turkey would be wonderful to see again. The people, culture and food are amazing.

  • What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

I love to be with my kids when not working. A little NFL football, good hike, ski or road bike journey are always welcome too.

  • What draws you most to this type of work?

I have always loved the practical application of Psychology to helping young people and families get back on track and work through life adversities.

  • Name a movie or book that had a profound effect on your life.

There are many professional books that have been influential, but The Little Prince always seems to come to mind.
