Summit Preparatory School was started by Rick Johnson and Jan Johnson, with the support of the Mark D. Hostetter and Alexander N. Habib Foundation.  The school is currently led by Rick Johnson (MSW) as Executive Director and Jan Johnson (LCSW, MSW) as Associate Executive Director and Admissions Director.

The academic program operates under the Director of Education, Tom Kallay M.Ed.  Classes are provided by full-time state-certified teachers.  The clinical program operates under the direction of our director of clinical and residential services,  Jim Rogers, Ph.D.  Dr. Rogers is a licensed clinical psychologist who oversees the professional therapeutic services provided by our licensed Masters and Doctorate-level therapists. 

Summit's Medical Director is Victor Houser, MD. Dr. Houser is a child and adolescent psychiatrist and provides psychiatric consultations and medication management.

Additionally, each team of 10-12 students is assigned two full-time house parents, each with a minimum of a bachelor's in psychology or a related field, who work with students throughout the daily schedule.

As you will find, the staff at Summit Preparatory School come from a wide variety of backgrounds and offer a variety of special skills and services to the organization.  Since this organization is built upon the principle of establishing meaningful relationships with our students, our staff is our most valuable resource in helping them grow.  So, it may be a good idea to get acquainted with our staff members in order to get a better idea who we are as an organization.
