"A purpose of Human life, no matter who is controlling it, is to love whoever is around to be loved." -Kurt Vonnegut
I am a native Mainer by birth. I have lived in several different states and even spent 2 years living in the country of Portugal.
My wife Tammy I have been married for 27 years and we have including eleven children, 3 married, 6 at home. The youngest is 6 and we are enjoying the first of many (we hope) grandchildren.
I have held leadership positions as an executive director, clinical director and program director of residential treatment facilities for ten of those years, including overseeing the operation of inpatient and outpatient chemical dependency facilities. As a therapist and as a manager I strive to have a warm, down-to-earth relational approach, with a focus on helping entire families heal the wounds that have threatened to destroy the most important and valuable relationships in this world.
Portugal to get to visit old friends.
Playing soccer with my kids, gardening, fly fishing, or camping with the family.
My first occupational passion was the ocean, and I even completed a degree in oceanography and Marine Biology, but I soon discovered I had a knack, and even patience, for working with people, especially teenagers. I particularly enjoy working with a team approach in counseling, as I am a systems therapist by training. I find that with a systems approach, especially within families, there is great strength and the power to heal.
