    A.S. Early Childhood Education

When I was 5 years old, my mom always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down 'happy'. They told me I didn't understand the assignment and I told them they didn't understand life. - John Lennon

  • Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Plains, MT.

  • Tell us about your family.

I was raised on a cattle ranch by two wonderful parents who taught me many things. I have been blessed with an older sister and two younger brothers.

  • Share something about yourself that might surprise people.

Being raised by two Norwegian parents allotted me the opportunity to spend some of my summer breaks in Norway.

  • Briefly describe your work experience.

A majority of my work experience over the last 15 years has involved working with children of all ages and backgrounds. I have also spent some time working in the medical field.

  • If you could spend a week anywhere in the world, where would it be?

It is very difficult for me to pick just one place. However, I have wanted to see Italy since I was a little girl.

  • What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

When I am not working I enjoy most things outdoors. (hiking, boating, camping and exploring) I love reading and traveling but my favorite thing to do is spend time with my nieces and nephews.

  • What draws you most to this type of work?

The hope of making a difference. I can't think of a more rewarding job than to influence our youth in a positive way.
