  • Where did you grow up?

I was born and raised in Southern Maryland but have spent several years bouncing around!

  • Tell us about your family.

My parents are still in Maryland where my mom works at the local middle school and my dad owns his own business. Both of my brothers are living in the rat race of New York City while I hide out in Montana!

  • Share something about yourself that might surprise people.

Oh boy! I once was on a boat that sunk and didn’t even get wet!

  • Briefly describe your work experience.

I’ve worked at summer camps, substitute taught, guided all sorts of outdoor things, ski patrolled, coached ice hockey, and had a stint with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

  • If you could spend a week anywhere in the world, where would it be?

That’s tough. I spent 14 months in New Zealand and absolutely love the people and the outdoor recreation opportunities there, so that’s what comes to mind first! In my time abroad, though, I’ve learned that the people around you are more important than the place so just being home is a close second!

  • What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

I love to ski, whitewater raft and kayak, hike, backpack, climb, mountaineer, play sports (especially hockey!), read, hang out with friends, or general anything active, social, and outdoors!

  • What draws you most to this type of work?

I love working with kids and helping them reach the potential that they’re all capable of!
