  • Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Great Falls Montana, right on the Missouri River.

  • Tell us about your family.

My family is my rock. They always encouraged me to follow my passion and helped me foster a deep connection with nature from an early age. Everything I am I owe to them.

  • Share something about yourself that might surprise people.

I hula hoop fire. It’s something I picked up while living in Hawaii and is what eventually lead me to discover Dance / Movement Therapy.

  • Briefly describe your work experience.

While finishing my bachelor’s in psychology at The University of Montana I worked at a therapeutic boarding school that had just opened. I began as residential staff and was then promoted to shift supervisor after a year. Though I had already planned on continuing my education it was this first experience that solidified my desire to become a therapist. After graduation I accepted a position with Pacific Quest Wilderness Therapy on the Big Island of Hawaii and spent 6 months in the field before being promoted to the Solo Supervisor. I was responsible for prepping and facilitating students on a three day, two night vision quest at the end of their stay. It was one of the most rewarding experiences I have had thus far and really helped to shape the way I approach the therapeutic process. After two years in paradise I was ready to take the next step and moved to Boston to begin my master’s in Dance / Movement Therapy at Lesley University. I am elated to be a part of the Clinical Team at Summit Preparatory School!

  • If you could spend a week anywhere in the world, where would it be?

Hiking the Napali Coast on the Hawaiian Island of Kauai. There are amazing beaches and absolutely no people!

  • What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

You will most likely find me outside wandering the mountains, on my yoga mat, inside a hula hoop or with my hands in the dirt…depending on the season.

  • What draws you most to this type of work?

Helping others learn to love themselves and then share that gift with the world – there is not greater work than this.
